I thought this film was more like a love story than anything else which is pretty poor as I really rate matt damon as a well sought actor, the script was poor and to be honest if i knew what the film was like I wouldnt of watched it.

Ok, I thought this is an action adventure film but it's actually a love story and a morale story. Hate to be cynical but please spare us these lectures of freewill and fate. I won't reveal the plot here but do yourself a favour, if you had enough of religious blah blah blah, go sort out your laundry rather than seeing this film. It's more interesting that sitting through two hours of these. The only good thing about this film is Ms Blunt is absolutely stunning.

Too soppy and too many (implicit) religious connections for my taste, but what I really object to is the claim that it is based on a Philip K Dick story. The man must be turning in his grave!

But putting that aside ....

As a love story, it never really convinces.
As an SF story, ... Its got an SF story line, but it just doesn't feel like it because the SF part is completely incidental to the main thrust of the film which is the all to familiar ... true love is the most important thing and conquers all.
As an action story, the highlight is when Matt Daemon knocks someone's hat off.

Film of the Week

The Conjuring (15)

Hugely enjoyable, genuinely scary horror flick that provides a welcome throwback to classic 1970s chillers, thanks to impeccable production design, a superb script, powerfully atmospheric direction, intense set-pieces and terrific performances.
