Sub Editor (Maternity Cover)
Key Requirements
Strong and accurate written work at speed
Ability to manage large volumes of information
Confidence in using the phone and interacting with PRs
Interest in a diverse range of London events
Able to pick up new skills quickly
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our editorial team to provide temporary maternity cover for a key editorial role – Whats On Section Editor. The right applicant will be a capable multi-tasker who loves working hard both as part of a team and independently and also prides themselves on their accuracy in writing at speed. You will also thrive on the fast paced nature of online (every day brings its own deadlines) and enjoy managing a large volume of information.
Enthusiasm and an enquiring mind are both essential as you will be sifting through swathes of information to ensure that we not only have features for all key London events across a diverse spectrum (Arts, Gay, Family, Lifestyle, Live Music, Nightlife, Special and Unusual Events and Sports) but that we have them first. As a result, you'll need to be able to come in and hit the ground running across all areas of interest.
The successful candidate will preferably have an editorial background but training will be given on Photoshop and content management systems so enthusiasm and a hard working ethos are just as important and this role may suit an ambitious, hardworking graduate.
You will be based in our Folkestone office, working closely alongside two other members of the editorial team.
